Don't force them to change their way of having fun. If you don't like how others are playing, and they are not willing to change, then just don't play with them and move the fuck on. Remember, it's okay for you not to like how others play, but also the other way around. You defining what "playing to win" means is just you forcing others to "have fun" your way. There are different ways to play to win, and some construe it be "Strive for first place every time, no exceptions." and others take it to mean: "Be consistently good over many games." But I do that because I like it, and I also play with people who try their best but are happy with a good result and not only the best result. Personally, I enjoy going for first place more, and will always strive for it. Others go all-in, and nothing matters to them except the first place, and they usually end up last trying to desperately struggle their way up by doing unorthodox things. Some people try their best, but are contend going for a solid second place, having had fun with and happy their strategy worked somehow. You can't make the rules on what's playing to win. r/tabletopgamedesign - Designer's subreddit.r/boardgameexchange - selling/buying/trading games.Game of the Week Calendar Related Sites & Subreddits The simplest use is to bold game names in your comment and add " /u/r2d8 getinfo" at the end of the post, but this post/sub has other features identified.
